Purposes of processing and retention period
The Car Factory collects and processes data about you for the purposes described below. In this respect, we use both the data that you provide to us and the data that we collect ourselves (for example concerning your visit to our website). We keep personal data for the time necessary for the intended purposes or for the period prescribed by law (obligation to keep accounting documents, etc.).
Execute your order
To fulfill your order, we need your name, e-mail address, address, delivery address, payment data and your telephone number. We will then be able to deliver your order and inform you of the progress of the delivery. We are required by law to keep your order data for seven years.
You can subscribe to our newsletters. It informs you of our offers and special actions as well as our novelties. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time via firstname.lastname@example.org or by clicking on the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of each of our mailings.
If you wish, you can create a personal account for which you must enter a username and password. You will therefore not have to enter your data with each new order. In your account, we store your name, email address, address, shipping address, payment data, phone number, order history, wishlists and email preferences. We store this personal data on a secure server. You can request the deletion of the data concerning you contained in your account at any time. In any case, we will delete the data concerning you if you have not logged in for seven years.
Improvement of our services and website
To improve our services and our website, we may use your e-mail address to ask you if you wish to participate in a satisfaction survey or market research. When we use other parties, they are required to respect the confidentiality of the data concerning you. The retention period of your personal data differs depending on the survey. As soon as the investigation is completed, we delete all data that can identify you personally.
Abuse and Fraud
We may use customer data to prevent abuse and fraud and to conduct investigations in this regard. If necessary, we can forward customer data to the competent authorities.
Clients and business partners
We also keep personal data on the contact person of our customers and business partners. We treat this data as confidentially as other data relating to our customers.
Legal grounds for processing
The Car Factory processes personal data on the basis of the following legal grounds:
• consent (e.g. sending newsletters and invitations)
• necessary for the execution of a contract (execute your order...)
• necessary to fulfill a legal obligation
• necessary to defend our legitimate interest in undertaking
When personal data is processed on the basis of the legal ground of consent, you always have the right to withdraw the consent given.
Transmission to third parties
The Car Factory does not sell your personal data to third parties. We share your data internally with our employees (employees or self-employed). In addition, we only share data about you with third parties to:
• the execution of your order;
• website hosting;
• setting up the IT infrastructure;
• creating (and distributing) newsletters and invitations.
Our employees and the third parties we use are required to respect the confidentiality of the data concerning you. We guarantee that they have taken the necessary protective measures for this purpose.
Some of our suppliers are located outside the European Union. We will only share your data with third parties outside the EU if they have signed a processor agreement and if they can guarantee its protection based on an adequate resolution of the European Commission (e.g. EU /US Privacy Shield).
Your rights regarding personal data concerning you
You have the right to consult the personal data that we keep about you and you can (have) rectified them if they are inaccurate or incomplete. You can also have the personal data concerning you erased, have their processing restricted and oppose the processing (of part) of this data by us or by one of our subcontractors.
You also have the right to request a copy (in structured, common and machine-readable form) of the personal data concerning you and to have it sent to another party.
You have the right to object free of charge to any processing of personal data concerning you for direct marketing purposes.
To exercise the aforementioned rights, it is sufficient to send an e-mail to email@example.com.
To avoid abuse, we ask you to also send us a copy of your identity card (possibly with a photo ID made invisible).
